Richard E Leasure AMS, Accredited Marine Surveyor
I am a specialist in Yacht and Small Craft with many years of experience with small craft of all kinds. As an Accredited Marine Surveyor, I can supply a realistic and accurate report of the condition and value of a used vessel for a prospective seller, buyer, buyers' insurance underwriter or financial institution. We are close to the Dauphin Island and the Dog River Marinas in Mobile Alabama. We also travel to the Biloxi Mississippi and Gulfport Mississippi areas.
LEASURE MARINE SURVEY is focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction - we will do everything we can to meet your expectations. We work with the customer and boat owner to supply a quality survey accepted by all insurance companies and financial institutions.
A Condition and Value (C & V) Marine Survey entails a complete inspection of you boat in and out of the water. The physical inspection usually takes from between 4 to 7 hours depending on the size of the boat and complexity of the boats systems. I will take my collected photos and information back to the office and generate a comprehensive report giving: general information, boat specific information, a condition and value analysis, a description and analysis of all the boats systems, and a findings and recommendation section. Sea trials can also be scheduled on an hourly rate.
I can also supply a Pre-purchase Inspection report giving a valuation, photos, and my observations. This can be useful to out of town clients who desire information before making an offer. The cost of this is between $200.00 to $300.00 depending on the boat's location and size. Engines should be inspected by a certified technician with appropriate diagnostic equipment.
